Tree Point Light Station - 1935

Lighthouse Access

Landing in small bay. Inclined tramway leads from boathouse to wharf, distance about 175'. Wharf 28' x 40' built on creosoted timbers set on concrete footings fastened to solid rock. Supplies & boats landed on wharf by stiff leg derrick having a 60' boom.

 

About 1800' E'ly from tower.

 

Shop machine: lathe 5" screw cutting 4 to 40 threads, change gears (Dayton Hardware Co., Portland OR). Wooden stiff leg derrick with bull wheel operated by Clyde 2 drum hoist 60' boom.
