There are salt marshes in immediate vicinity of light station. During Summer & Fall months Indians catch large quantities of dog fish for oil; bodies of fish being thrown on beach, where they decompose producing a sickening stench.

 

That portion of salt marsh which lies inside LH bounds will be reclaimed by throwing up a dike along W side of premises.
