Cisterns are emptied once in 2 years & washed out clean.
3 brick cisterns, cap'y 17, 835 gals placed near lighthouse, 2 on N side (9' dia x 7' 6" & 6' dia x 7' 6" deep), 1 on W side (17' dia. x 7' 6" deep).
Made of brick laid in cement mortar & inside plastered with cement mortar. Tops of cisterns have wooden coverings.
