Fort est. 3/21/1855; tower about 120' N by W of where it now stands. Placed in present location 1858 or 1859. Finished dwellings 6/1884; Stevens Bell (new) 7/1889; Water tanks (lower - 1/1895, upper - 6/1896); Rain shed built 7/1895; Tramway & walks, 1897.
