5/8" dia, copper wire rope with eye passed around spindle & led down to iron pipe buried in ground about 12' from base of building &  about 3' deep.

 

Iron gallery & hand rail at level of watchroom floor & at lantern floor with iron ladder connecting the 2.

 

No door in lantern. Door from watchroom to gallery iron door fitted with rim knot lock.
