Seacoast - and marks entrance to Straits of Fuca.

 

Lower part of tower is built of stone, above roof of keeper's dwelling, it is brick.

 

All bldgs have neat & tidy appearance. Surface of island on which station is built is about
80' above high water - undulating - & covered with heavy growth of coarse bunch grass &
weeds.

All material for bldg purposes, fuel for fog signal, & supplies for lighthouse have to be hoisted from beach up a perpendicular rock bluff 72' high & transported on a tramway 300' to fog signal & house.
