An old cistern has been filled with rock & dirt to prevent sickness from stagnant water. It had not been used for many years. It measures 7 x 10 x 16'
Cistern extends from floor of assts. kitchen. It was washed out, whitewashed & filled in Dec., 1905 by order of CO of post at Keepers request.
